Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 51.1°, overcast and fortune tellers calling for 71 today.
Sorry I didn't get back any sooner Roy. Been pretty busy for the last day and a half. Seems like I've been on the road or on the phone constantly.
Been having some problems with the line of communications with St. Vincent's in Billings. (I'm beginning to not think very highly of that hospital.) The nurses, have been providing us with all of the information we have been getting on dad, essentially reading us chart notes which seem to be about as clear as mud. We have not been able to get any communications from the doctor at all. The nurses are telling us they have left message after message with the doctor to call us - which he hasn't done.
So we got my sister on an airplane to Billings Mt., (taking the senic route via Denver), yesterday. It was a tight and rushed schedule, she had to literally run for the gate, but she made the flight and she is now at the hospital with dad. She is also now on a doctor hunt to find out why he has been avoiding us.
As my sister was getting on the plane from Portland to Billings, I got word from my Doc at the VA that all of the tests and the pathology on me had just come back from the lab with good results. With those tests in and confirmed, she now has no problem with me flying back or the 985 mile drive home.
So, now we are in stand by mode trying to figure out what else is going on. The nurses were telling my sister this morning about some virus that dad tested positive for and she is currently trying to get some additional info on that.
I am staying here for now so I can meet dad at the airport in Portland, in case we put him on an airplane and fly him home as opposed to him having to endure a 3 day drive.
Good afternoon Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Still overcast and only 70 for a change which is a good thing.
Our friend that owns the big ranch out of Belmont, Mt. has mother in tow. She called me just a little bit ago and put mother on the phone. She sounded pretty good and seems to be in good spirits.
For now, the tentative plans are that I will stay in Oregon and pick dad up at the airport in Portland as soon as they release him from the hospital & put him on a direct flight from Billings. We all think that a 3 hour flight and 3 hour drive in the car is better than a 3+ day cross country trip in a pickup. I'll get him home to the farm and take care of that end while my sister rounds up my mother, the pickup & camp trailer near Roy, Mt., and then drives back to the farm.
