For years I would PM anybody from Oregon and ask them to join us. I got tired of no responses so I just gave up. Why beat my head over it? We have a great group of friends here and if they don't want to participate why should I lose any sleep over it. They sure don't...
I have a sneaking suspicion that some may have found our conservative nature a little distasteful when watching us BS?
Oh, well.......then we don't need em'.
I think a lot of it is tunnel vision Dave. They just go to the forum for their truck and never look at the whole site. All the chapters have the same problem and have had for YEARS. Most members don't even know we HAVE state chapters!
It's kind of like FTE LIVE! How many even know it exists and go there? Not many I'll bet...

I think any club, group or association has the same "rate of return". The Gun Club has 200 members (Insurance restriction), same 20 to 25 at the meetings every month, the Christmas Party, summer picnic etc. If you want to see everyone, you have to spend the evening at the annual renewal session as you have to make an appearance in person to fill out the membership renewal paperwork and pay your dues. Don't show up and your out and your spot is offered to one of the 90 or so people on the waiting list unless you have contacted the club and made special arrangements.
And, I think Don hit the nail on the head. They go to a focal point of interest, keep the blinders on and don't look left or right.
I first came on to FTE in something like 2002.

Initially got some good info, but there was nothing like the State Chapters that I can recall. Then some people were on that I really didn't agree with and any type of social media received great scrutiny at work so I just kind of faded out.
Advance a few years, retired from LEO with no one looking over my shoulder and I found my way back, wasn't able to use the old log on so had to start new, found the Oregon Chapter, some Crusty old farts and I've been a PIA ever since.

Ah yes! The old North West Chapter! What a pig pen THAT was! They were shutdown by Ken and disbanded. Then I got a call from Ken asking if I would take on the Oregon Chapter.
They (the old NWC) all went to a different Ford forum and promptly fell apart. I check them out once in a while and they maybe get a couple posts/month. Sad really...
Hey Dave! Speak of the devil. Just got this in my email.....
"Good morning Don,
Sorry I haven’t gotten back to you recently about the sodium hydroxide beads…The powers above me are developing a policy for this sort of transaction. It may take awhile, as it is not on the top of their priority list.

Never tried to follow them or see where they went. Just came back one day and everything was "missappeared".
Checked in every once in a while over a couple of years then everything seemed to be gone. "Re-discovered" it, lurked for a couple of months and decided there were a couple of people that were as dingy as I was so signed up again since my old log in seemed to be DOA.
