Does anyone know if the 2012 turbo one the 6.7 powerstroke can be uparaded to the 2015's now turbo?
Yes, anything is possible given enough money, but in the long run it'd probably be cheaper just to trade in your 2012 on a 2015 Power Stroke, or go with an aftermarket turbo system.
Oh yes, it has been done many times now. There are several diesel shops that have been doing this for a while. I don't remember who the first one to do it was but I know that SPE has a kit that i am very interested in
Other shops:
Midwest Diesel- now that I think about it, i think Morgan was the first to do it.
Maryland Performance Diesel and there is a couple more I can't think of right now
Thanks for the help guys. I was wondering because I'm looking to just get rid of the stock turbo for something more reliable. I noticed the VGT that comes stock on the 2015s was fairly cheap compared to the upgrade kits offered by most shops and wasn't sure if it would bolt straight up
From what I have read so far is that the '15 turbos have more lag than compared to the 11-14's, however tuning for the '15 retrofit has evolved to eliminate most of that laggy feeling and as you can see in the video, makes really good power.
