2008 F250 Map light issue
Love the forum been here a while and I need a little help...
I went to replace a burnt out map light bulb in the truck yesterday. Popped the cover off took out bad bulb no problem... EASY everyday job no big deal. I mean I have ripped out, rebuild and installed engines... one tiny bulb cant be that bad... LOL
... As I am installing the bulb my hand slips and hits the switch. I hear a faint click or pop sound light goes off and now I have no map light...Here is the kicker. Dome light works, open door lights come on. The switched map lights dont. WTF

Check the fuse you may say... well that would be common thinking for us fine educated mechanics right?
...NOPE... no blown fuses anywhere... Can someone please send me in the right direction here... I tried searching the forums I was able to find some info on a BCM or GEM where people over loaded a circuit and the module shut down but no info on how to reset it. What's the point of a fuse panel if a computer just shuts down a circuit?
PLEASE don't tell me it is a stealer only fix...
Thanks guys! keep on truckin!
My Toy the day I brought her home...
You'd better hope its a fuse (F25 in the Smart Junction Box), otherwise you're probably looking at a new SJB or a wiring harness problem. The under hood lamp and the visor vanity lamps are also on the same fuse. If they do work, then its a wiring fault. If they don't, it's either F25 or a component internal to the SJB.
Thank you so much....

I missed the description of " Power telescoping mirror switch Demand
lamps - underhood and illuminated visor
(battery saver) "
I think MAP LIGHT would have been easier ahahah
Geez!
