Yeh baby, I bet that would sell like hot cakes. There is no diesel suv on the market.
No doubt Ford would sale a lot. I know Diesel is making it's comeback in the consumer car world, and we all know how popular Ex's are, but are we a specific group?
Would a new 2015 Diesel Ex be as popular with the rest of the world? When everyone is pushed daily on the new import that gets 90mpg and runs on farts and rainbows?
There is a market for a work horse, just look at how well the Superduty line sales? Heck I'd love a 4x4 crew cab long box dually myself. But I like big trucks, I'd like an International MXT, but I like big trucks.
All in all, parking lots are trying to maximize the number of spaces they can accommodate, and the Excursion and Superduty's just don't work with their calculation.
I could see Ford having another 5 year run, start off strong and then tapering off. I'd be happy to buy a used one, but I don't think I could afford $60K +.

Lol, so true of most place's lots. I love our parking lot at my job, not only is it secured by badge activated gates, wire topped tall fences, monitored by roving guards as well as video BUT all of the spots are so large that everyone could drive a CCLB dually and still have tons of room. My Geo Metro looks comical parked in one of those giant spots, well to be honest the Metro looks comical almost anywhere......

Granted they are all mid-size SUVs. You are correct when it comes to full size SUVs however I believe come 2016 we'll have diesel Expeditions and Suburbans.
IMHO you'll never see anything like the Excursion again. That's what makes these trucks so special.
