Wanna see pics ON TRUCK of Spyder vs Recon Headlights

Ready to buy the headlights. See plenty of pics of the Recons but none with the Spyder brand. Like the look of Recon more but the Spyder are cheaper and also available in HID which I figure if i'm going to spend the money why not have better light as well.

Any pics or opinions from people who have either or??

I got the Spyders from Amazon. Sorry for the crappy phone pics but it's all I've got. The headlights are not on in the nighttime picture just the LEDs on the bottom and the halos around the two bulbs.

Did you go with the HID's? How do u like them/quality?

It seems from pics as if the "smoked"
looks a little better quality on the Recons. However I have yet to be able to see a pic of the smoked Spyder brand on a truck. Hoping someone here will be able to help me with that.

No on the HIDs. They seem to be good, quality wise.

I just looked on both Amazon and Spyder's site. They only list up to an 08-10. Nothing for 11+. What part numbers are you guys using?

I would really like to know how those projector lenses work with LED lighting rather than HID or Halogen..

I just noticed this on the Autoanything site::

---------- Spyder Lights are DOT-compliant, but not DOT-approved

What does that mean???

I'm guessing that means they meet applicable laws but the DOT doesn't recommend them. Probably because these trucks aren't specifically designed to come with LED or HID lighting.

Most of the led replacement bulbs don't work well with projectors. If you look at then the LED face sideways to use the reflector housings. Would need to point strait to work with projectors.

They're pretty much plug and play but there was one splice required but I can't remember for what.
the Halo doesn't have any stock wiring..
