Now it idles up and down. Do I need to reset the computer in it?

I use the K&N FIPK on all my Mustang Gt's and never have any problems. Why did you change the MAF? Does it idle up and down in rhythm or erratic?

it idles in rhythm. I changed the MAF because it was the original one. I figured I'm replacing all these other parts might as well get them all. Actually what happened was a left side catalytic converter rusted out and got really loud. Around 18 miles or so (highway) my check engine light came on. Advanced Auto did the hook up and it threw a code P0174 (System too lean Bank 2) so I'm troubleshooting all kinds of stuff. So far I've put on a total new exhaust system and the cold air kit. Tuesday will be 4 new 02 sensors and a new fuel filter.

Try to look at it this way; your floating between to many things and causing confusion for yourself.
You did not need to change out the Mass Air Meter if there was no code to support the need for a change.
The exhaust needed to be fixed , then clear the code and see what comes back then service for the codes.
Just doing things on perceived principle often bring trouble that causes the confusion.
I would do a clear and see what you have for fresh code and performance instead of trying to go off old history.
If you have a wandering idle, you need to understand how the system controls it to make any repairs.
Here is how idle is controlled assuming no faults and correct parts are in place;
1. The crank sensor tells the computer what the RPM is at any given moment.
2. The computer compare that signal to a software table.
3. If they do not match within +/- 50 RPM the IAC is opened or closed a small amount to change the idle until a match is found.
4. The idle control is constantly monitored to keep it within the narrow limits so you don't feel it or detect it.

If the idle is rolling, it's hunting for the match it can't attain due to a fault.
A. Is there an air leak between the air meter and the throttle body?
B. Is the IAC sticking?
C. Is the correct air meter installed.
You may have to go back to the old parts to see, then move forward again to find the problem.

Did you drill the hole for the IAT sensor the correct size so the grommet fit tight? As mentioned, you can not have any air coming into the ductwork between the MAF and the throttle body. If it hunts in rhythm and didn't before, I would put the old MAF back in, check all your connections, and see what you have. AS mentioned, clear the codes before you do this so any new codes tossed will be relevant.

So I put the old cold air intake and MAF back in and reset it. I drove it for 88 miles before the check engine light came on with an error code of P0174 at least its running nice and smooth again. Tomorrow I'm having all four 02 sensors replaced and the gas filter, then I'll reset it again and drive it.

I doubt that will cure it, but let's hope so. REALLY look for any vacuum leak anywhere near that bank. Did you ever clean the MAF and IAT sensor with dedicated cleaner? A quick spray with MAF cleaner is all it takes.....good luck and report back!

Respectfully, your waisting time and money replacing the OX sensors and the filter unless the filter is old and needs it, then clearing the code.
Neither one of these is the cause of the code.
The 174 code is a Lean code for one bank.
If you were to look at the long term fuel trim table for that bank you will see it out of limits. This is what sets the code and it will come back after one or more drive cycles..

I talked to a mechanic at Ford and he said " replace 02 sensor that's before the catalytic converter." Actually I couldn't expect much more from them they didn't even have the studs and nuts to put my cats back on.

Today was quite the day, after replacing the 4 o2 sensors and resetting code I took it for a drive. No check engine light for 50 miles, then on it came. Now when we put the code reader on, it gave us P0174 AND P0171 which made more sense to my son in-law (none to me) he had me start it up and he blasted it with brake cleaner but nothing happened. (was it supposed to?) yes the motor would have surged because it would have sucked it into the cylinders and detonated (great so no leaky intake manifold) next thing he did was hook his compressor to a smoker? which would show any other leaks (like EGR stuck open) he had a bright flashlight and was going all over the motor looking for smoke, nothing. So sometime next week he will be looking over my fuel system because he say's not getting the right fuel pressure will also cause it to throw those lean codes. He'll have a slot open for it next week he thinks, so I'll post what the fix was.

Now it's lean on both banks? Have you tried running it with the EGR disconnected? It may toss a different code related to the flow, but if the 171-174 goes away that might be it...just tossing this out...I'm no expert.

as Bluegrass said two days ago your problem has nothing to do with the O2 sensors. Code 171 and 174 mean you have a vacuum leak. Could be intake manifold, or could be the small black hoses on the manifold that go to the EGR, vacuum canister, brake booster, etc. I had that code several years ago on a 5.4 motor and found the 3/16 and 1/4 vacuum hoses about 8 inches long, drivers side, real close to exhaust manifold, had got hot / hard/ and cracked... Your looking for a vacuum leak.
