I am typically on the F250 or Excursion forum, but just bought myself an '06 F150. Love it so far. Biggest complaint lookswise is the honeycomb grille.

Is it possible to put the bar style grille on the Lariat? When I look at parts on eBay or Amazon they say they fit for the fx4 but not the lariat.

Please help me understand what will work.
I bought my dad a dummy grill that inserts over the top of the honeycomb and it looks great but I have other plans.

I tried one of the dummy coverup grilles over the honey comb OEM plastic grilles. Did not like it at all, very phoney looking!!!! I then went with a billet grille from "Carriage Works". A bit of time needed to install, but very heavy duty, perfect fit and looks great. Check em out. Renzo in Kau, Hi.

 

I purchased the bar grill from the 2006 Harley Edition and it was a direct bolt in replacement, My truck is black so I left the black surround that it came with on it. others have swapped there chrome surrounds. it looks like a lot of work to to do that, but it has been done.

Will an H Bar setup from an fx4 or stx etc... bolt in place of the honeycomb setup?

I am going to pull it all apart tomorrow and see if I can come up with an answer but I am curious if anyone has done it.
