I'm looking at doing an efuel conversion next year and was wondering if its possible to get the line off the back f the heads and the new ones installed without removing the turbo? Since that metal line runs underneath things back there
While not the easiest to get at it is possible from the top. Best to place some thick cardboard or padding over the engine to allow you to lay on top of it. Another option is to disconnect the down tube and the trans from the cross member then jack up on the rear of the trans to tilt the engine forward keeping an eye on the fan to radiator space.
lol the turbo is already rebuilt, i rebuilt it and added riffraffs wheel about a year ago, i think i should be ok to get the hard line off as long as i can re use the fitting in the back of the heads back there, you don't have to change those fittings do you? i plan on getting the kit from strictly diesel.
You can do it. I have had to do a few things and it can be done.its not terrible and not the end of the world. You can do it.
The strictly diesel kit has you replace those in head fittings for npt to jic/an type.
I did mine with the engine in but I did have the turbo and up pipes off.
I was doing bellowed ups and pedestal delete and reseal.
It could have been done with turbo on but it was just an all at the same time large project.
I personally dont like the oe banjo bolt /line assembly and think that 1/4" line it is made of is way too small.
