56 door windows

I bought my 56 f100 with the window conversion kit that removes the wing window and uses one solid glass.

How do I remove the glass? I need to install new felt in the channels and some sweeper felt along the bottom of the door to glass area to help keep out rain. Where can I get these items? If anyone knows, I would appreciate some help.

Thanks

Hello and welcome,

I am no guru, but I believe that if you go to the Mid fifty web site, you will find the parts you need. I got the sweeper felts there recently. They also have a lot of instruction sheets, and I reckon you will find what you need for your window. I know when I bought a door glass from them recently it had instructions for installing glass, just work in reverse.

Cheers

To remove the glass: run window all the way down, go thru inspection cover and unbolt glass lift channel from regulator. Lower glass while turning 90* and remove thru inspection opening. If reusing original regulator you will need to remove channel from glass bottom (somewhat difficult without breaking glass) And put channel on new glass with setters tape. When I installed my electric power regulators I found it much easier to remove door and lay it face down on a padded table to work on it, rather than have to fight weight of the glass and difficult visibility.

This . Plus down load the info from Mid Fifty. That way it is on the bench beside you. If your doors are in good adjustment [gaps] drill 1/8'' hole thru the hinges so you can return to adjustment quickly.
Look at the adjustable hinges for added adjustment and copy them.
Sorry Ax for hijack.

That bottom channel comes with the kit, providing you bought that kit, and is longer than the original. I just received my kit last week along with all new hardware from Midfifty.
