Headlight keeps burning out..

So my drivers side headlight for low beams keeps burning out, im assuming this has to do with a short somewhere but i haven't had the time to really check it out. I do notice that when i originally went to switch the bulb, part of the upper headlight housing had a hole in it as if it melted at some point. Should i be checking for proper grounding? Maybe a relay? I'm not the smartest guy when it comes to electrical, any help is appreciated

Is water getting in there and hitting a hot bulb?

Yeah these things are prone to leak and will fill up w water. The "solution" is to drill a hole to allow water to drain. If its done at the top that is probably allowing water to run down onto the hot bulb possibly.

Check the plug also . Burnt connections will cause high resistance and cause shorter bulb life .

This doesn't sound like an electrical issue, especially if he has a hole in the top of the housing. I'm betting it's water getting in and fouling the bulb.
