tool box color
any one know what color the tool box,located behind the driver's seat were painted.
Semi-gloss black? or the color of the truck?

Some were body color, earlier ones were painted red.

I have a 49 and a 51 both are the color of the truck

I have a 48, round on the ends, body color. Have a 50, square on ends, body color.

The 48-52 trucks had a tool tray that sat above the gas tank, behind the seat. The 51's and 52's I've seen were body color. I had a 50 that originally was green with a red tray, and I've seen some earlier ones with red trays, too. It may have been something that varied by assembly plant.
