Does somebody knows if the temperature sensors must be place in series or
is that depending from a type of sensor for a V8 1946
Following an original drawing must they being place in series, one single and one double sprong but on our motor is mount two singel sprongs and that is parallel.
Our temperature meter doesn't work properly, so for that reason this question.
Does sombody also know the resistance from one sensor by a temperature
from approx 20 C ?
Thank you in advance for any reply,
Regards, Gert.

Reason: Forgot a few words
The single unit is a sending unit. The dual unit is a thermal switch. The way the system is set up the passenger head takes the sending unit (single). Your temperature gauge is normally reading the temperature of the passenger side head. The driver side head takes the thermal switch (dual). If the diver's side head gets above a set temperature the thermal switch closes and pegs your temperature gauge to hot. The wiring is from the sending unit (single) to one side of thermal switch (dual). Then a second wire runs from the other side of the thermal switch (dual) to the temperature gauge.
Dual sending units (singles) will not work. You can run one sending unit without the thermal switch if you want. Simply remove the wire that runs from the driver's side to the passenger's side. You will then not have a temperature reading for the passenger's side, but that is ok.
Many thanks 38 coupe, your story is very clear.
I saw on the drawing that they were different but not in which way.
I'll order a double prong/contact sensor because it must work so as it's intend.
