They changed it in 92. From what I've heard the window dimensions are different, but someone on the forum made it work. There's inside and outside trim. Not sure what's involved in the swap.

I've tried searching the forum but can't find anything on it. Do you know who might have done it?
I have swapped the bottom panel out because I wanted cup holders in the back. there is a little bit of trimming that you will have to do on the top. And I had to cut a hole for the seat belts. I can take pictures of it when I am off work. Hope that helps a bit.
Ok, so the 80-91 windows install from inside, the 92+ from the outside. The 80-91 opening is smaller, but can be made to work. It's not a bolt in, but it can be done. Look about halfway down the first page.

Ok, but it is one solid window across all the model years right?
My main question is whether the interior trim will fit from a 92-96 style, because that's when the trim didn't run through the middle of the window?
The parts book says it was one solid window per side 1980-89 BUT 1980/85 part numbers are different than 1986/89 which means something changed. This book only goes up to 1989, I have no idea when or if they changed again.
As for the interior trim, I've heard of it being done but at some point (I think in the 90s) they started including rear shoulder seat belts, the trim was made to accommodate that.
That area near the rear of the panel....that's where the seat belt would normally go through right?
if you are talking about the hole at the end of the arm rest yes I believe. and the corner (at the back of the cab) is not quite flush against the top piece. I am not sure if it is not like that on the otherside
