Nice work! Will you be getting a bed for it, or keeping the flatbed?

What transmission do you have? They came with a T19 4 speed, no overdrive. People do swap in 5 speed zf's and they do have overdrive 5th.

I agree. Get rid of the Non over Drive T19 and put in a ZF5. You will thank us later

I've been told its a 4spd overdrive,it has a strait shifter unlike the "s" shifter.I also have a sale's book from the 1986 model year and they list a 4spd,4spd o/d and C6 as tranny options.

You were LIED to. NO OVERDRIVE. That is a cast iron trans and they were straight 4 speeds with NO OVERDRIVE.

The T19 was used behind the diesel and 460. It has a PTO plate on both sides of the trans(yours is a T19)

There were 2 OD trans available in those years and both were aluminum and were only available in a 1/2 ton. A diesel would blow them up in about 1 day
