Temp. Gauge
I have a 95 f150 4.9l. A few years ago, I had a "bouncy" temperature gauge, so I replaced the sender unit and the problem seemed to go away. This past week, the same thing happened to me, bouncing between low and hot. So I replaced the sending unit again, and the bouncing went away. Now I have another issue, after running for a bit, the gauge maxes out, but the engine is not hot at all. The radiator hose is warm but not hot, and nothing is leaking or blowing. I have taken the sender back twice to be replaced, and the same thing keeps happening. Now my question is, does this mean the gauge itself is bad? or perhaps the parts store gave me the wrong sender for that gauge?
