Dakota vs. Aerostar.
I know the immediate advice is FORD, but I've been reading a lot of posts and am just curious about the install process of both of these setups (They are also much easier to come across at the junkyards than an MII or a Volare). Please, if you have experience with either of these let me know how you did it, how difficult it was, and if you had the same opportunity, would you do it the same way agian. Thanks again.

"Too many projects, not enough,...well, not enough willpower to resist a good deal. Oooo, how much for that pingpong table?"
Hi Paul. I have installed an Aerostar Crossmember in a 56 F-100. It is a fairly easy and economical swap. See my gallery. There are lots of these in salvage yards. I purchased a complete unit in very good condition for $150 Can. I spent about 20 hours doing the install, and that included making templates and other prep work. I wish I had made a video and kept the templates. I did this swap again I would tape it as there seems to be a bit of intrest. If you have any questions contact me. Ozzie
Paul,
I recently finished a '88 Daota IFS install. See my gallery for pix. I also have a few floppy's of the install in process. If interested, E me and I'll shoot 'em to ya. Install was pretty straight forward with only a few hiccups, but those I can forwarn you of to make it easy for you.
