BLOWN #6 ENGINE FUSE NO DASH/ TAIL LIGHTS

Thought i'd make my own thread instead of hijacking another.
Got a used 99 expy. And noticed that when turning the headlights on neither the dash nor the tail lights light up. The headlights will turn on but will stay on and not turn off unless i roll the autolight switch off. Narrowed it down to #6 engine fuse (parklights/autolamp). But every time i put in a new fuse and turn the headlight switch on it blows. Read some people and thought maybe the headlight switch. Got that in today installed it and no that didmt fix it still blows the fuse. Most likely now a shorted wire. Any insight on how to narrow it down and any other steps to take?

It does not technically have to be a short in the wiring. It could be possible that there is a bulb that has burnt out. The broken filament could cause a short, causing the fuse to pop. I would check the bulbs first before trying to find a wire short. Good luck.
