On my E250, I've got the PDL's on all 4 doors. I've taken one almost completely apart and it's not easy.... If your solenoids are shot, or your relay is shot, hit your local recycler (junk yard) for some used ones. It may be the switch also. To check that, just jumper the 2 wires together for a moment to see if they operate. The relay and solenoids are sealed, non-serviceable. If you just want to do away with them, just disconnect the electrical plug from the harness. Good luck.......

This can be a tricky thing to trouble shoot. It's not as easy as one would think. You can have one of two types of systems-- either " Reverse polarity " or " Negative triggered " In either case a failure of the master switch ( driver's side ) can render the entire thing inop. I would first check to see of you have any power at the switch itself..
