Tim,i read an article about a 400 build and they used this intake, i havent looked into it yet because i cant make out the part#. I have a feeling its for the 4V heads but it was a 400 engine.

Yes, how did you get the new one to fit? Have they cut the excess off to get the thermostat housing on?
And, as Buzz asked, how can you compare the new one to the old one? I had both in my shop at the same time and there were big differences. The runners were larger and longer, IIRC, and the heat rise passage was huge.

. The only intake I can find that looks like that is a 7564... but the last digit in the picture in no way looks like a 4...

IIRR...this was from the late 70's/early 80's....and like most of Edelbrock's parts at the time- a piece of junk from Mexico (literally)....HRM did a dyno test of one of eddy's "New" perf manifolds for the camero or corvette about this same time....it produced less HP/TQ than the oem manifold!
