Converting four wheel drive under a 2wd frame is something most guys with any experience would avoid. The easiest thing would be to swao the whole chassis. Even replacing the front frame section will be easier and cleaner than trying to use the whole 2wd frame.

I don't exactly know about that. From what I look at and understand it wouldn't be "to hard". By that I mean I'm willing to go for it and if I start it it's getting done. Why and how would replacing the whole front frame section be easier? I kinda get what your saying here and if I can't do it just by putting the front axle under it I would end up replacing the whole frame section but I wasn't really wanting to do that though unless I really had to. And I won't swap the frames. It's not really worth it to do that. That's to easy anyways

I would doublecheck the vin by to see if it is a 69. Check and post the vin which is on the right side frame rail under the passenger door.

You do know a 360 was the most common engine in these trucks back then. Can't exactly say it's definitely a 69 frame just because the tune up parts fit haha. Check the frame vin like said above and post it we can decide it for you and tell you exactly what your dealing with.

Wow is it cold out... the walk home was even colder cause my truck ran out of gas. But I can't find the vin number... is it on top of the frame rail?the side? Inside?

How do I see it if it's on the top of the frame rail?

you can see it from under the hood. years of grime may be covering it or is the frame has been painted it will need to be cleaned to see it.

edit: this might not be as easy at that since you have a newer body mounted to the frame. It could be covering the frame rail where the original inner fender would allow you to see it. Your situation is different from the norm so you will have to work that out.

A couple guys (with experience and power tools) can do a frame swap in a day, not really very complicated but it sounds like you prefer a challenge in which case, I'd say don't listen to old farts like me who have owned, worked on and modified literally hundreds of these trucks. A cutting torch will come in real handy to get that huge crossmember out of the way for starters. Plow ahead.

That's not it Steve. E would deignate an Econoline van. There is no 87 but if there were it would designate an 800's model. If F87 that would be like an F800.

Does the vin look like it could start with F3? After this many years some frames take a lot more beating from the elements then others it could be so pitted that it's making the numbers look like something else then what they really are.

Yes it does look like it could be f3. If f3 means f350 then I would think that's it

What is the value of a 67 to mid 70s f250? The guy I'm trying to buy the parts truck off of seems to think it's made of gold and won't tell me a straight price yet.. the truck is green and has a green interior. A 360 or 390. 4 speed floor shift so probably a T18??? T19?? It has a dump bed on it and it probably doesn't work buy I don't know. The truck does not run. It has a huge dent in the hood. It's really rusty and it's been sitting in the woods for years. And it's sunk in the mud pretty good. So what do you guys think would be the value of this? I'll try to get some pictures of the truck
