Fuel Additive?
Have just finished rebuilding a 460 Engine for my 1985 F-250HD.
My question is will I need to add any fuel additives to the engine to replace anything missing in modern ethanol gas or needed by a carb engine?

Not a fuel additive, unless your compression ratio is above about 9.5:1. But you need an oil additive if you are running the traditional flat-tappet cam. Google it and you'll find far more than you can possibly read on the topic, but most of it will say that the modern oils lack enough ZDDP to prevent the cam from abnormal wear. So you can either run an oil with ZDDP, like the speciality oils or some diesel oils, or an additive to boost the ZDDP. Or, side with those who say a properly broken in cam can still live with the low levels of ZDDP found in today's oil.

Good point, David. Start-up on a flat-tappet cam is critical. The cam should have been installed with cam lube directly on it, with each lifter having been immersed in oil before installation. And extra break-in lube in the oil. Further, the cam manufacturers typically specify running the engine at 2000 RPM for 20 minutes immediately after starting to let the cam mate with lifters.
