So I ordered Ford molded flaps for my 2015 F350 SRW, and when I laid them in place and stepped back, they just look totally ridiculous. They don't even cover the whole outside of the tire (about 1.5" gap). I have the 20" wheels and these little stubby & narrow flaps just look plain stupid, never mind that rocks will still get past them.
That is not what I expected and they will be going back to Ford.
I looked at the other flap thread and see the Duraflap straight drop rubber style looks really good. Problem is that I need to know just what size to order for my truck and if those who have them have the no drill ones. I don't want to drill any holes in my $70K truck. Also what is the drop length on your flaps (9" or 11" front & 12" or 14" rear)?
Pics would be great too.
Or do I get the Ford Heavy duty ones which are a straight drop style like the Duraflaps (but cost $70 less)?
Okay - that's cool... It was the hump that I actually liked because it would keep the flap from flapping or sailing...
Hadn't thought about that. Idea is sound, it's just that it looks goofy (in photos anyway). Wonder if the Duraflap or Heavy Ford ones sail?
Since posting this thread earlier, I found dimensions for the Heavy Duty Ford flaps (12" wide x 21.5" tall) and then measured the molded Ford ones I have. Found that the OEM molded ones are only 10.5" wide x 16" high. Too bad the standard tires are 12" wide and the height is a joke when mounted (less than half the tire is covered)
So let me get this straight Ford, you can make a HD set the right size, but the standard molded ones (ones you get when checking the option box when ordering truck) would better fit a freakin' Taurus? Absolutely amazing. The local parts dept had better not give me a hard time returning them.
On another truck I had the left rear mudflap actually melt to the tailpipe as it sailed up against the pipe while I was dragging a trailer 500 miles...
The way I figure it - if they sail or flap, they will eventually shake something loose or just generally look stupid goingdown the road.
I think you can go to the Weathertech.com site and find better pictures..
I have the long Duraflap on my 2015, I took them off the 2012 when I sold it.
I chose the longer ones to better protect my paint and my trailers. I have been very happy with them and have found the long ones clear any parking lot bump stops when I back in.
I can try to get some pictures this weekend and get them posted, but found good pictures when I was looking on the Duraflap website and on here.
I highly reccomend them!!!!
Good people to deal with and they give an FTE 10% discount if mentioned.

Reason: spelling correction
I like my duraflaps, they keep the front of my trailer clean and the front flaps keep my truck steps clean. I check the bolts every so often and they have remained tight. The installation was easy, took about an hour with breaks.
