Exhaust
Flowmaster is ancient technology. Not even high performance by modern standards.
Magnaflow usually sounds good no matter what you drive. But I'm starting to enjoy peace and quiet as I get older and products like Banks and Borla start to get more interesting.
Catalytic converters are very effective sound control and rob almost no power at all. You could just get whatever exhaust system you want and if it is too loud then just add a couple high performance cat's to quiet it down.

take a look at stainless steel works
Stainless Works Performance Exhaust, Headers and Fabrication
they've got a couple different kits, and full length headers if you want to go all out.
good stuff, quality second to none, IMO.

That's not why I went Flowmaster. I personally like the sound, technology and performance aside
x2. I have Stainless Works long tube headers and full exhaust system on a car and it is top of the line materials and workmanship. Mine is too loud for most F150 owners but I'm sure they will give you options, especially if you talk on the phone.
Yup the truck is bone stock, and I'm not sure what the "C" pipe is our talking about.
I'm not looking for technology, just a nice tone, and some volume to go with it. The truck will never see a track or mods under the hood.

Looks like good stuff alright, but too rich for my blood.
My neighbor has Magna-Flow on his '06 5.4L F150. Sounds great. The only time it's louder than I like is when it's at full throttle. And he does that quite often. He's 79 and hasn't decided what he wants to do when he grows up.
Just put a Borla S type on my 5.0. It replaced a system I wish I'd never even heard of, Roush, a drone factory, even with a Flowmaster Series 40 added to quiet it down, and actually make it bearable to drive. Researched, and asked many questions, here and over there. I went to a highly recommended shop finally, and they said Borla. So, that's what I did. You'll pay, it ain't cheap, but quality is top of the hill. All 304 stainless, lifetime warranty, and best of all, ZERO drone. Sounds beautiful on cold start, quiets down somewhat when the engine idles warm, but you can still hear it, yes, even in the cab. But, there is nothing obnoxious at all. Jump on it though, and everyone knows you're there, it will roar, when you want it. But at cruising, you just hear a very nice rumble.
Don't know what kind of money you're willing to spend, but I'll pay for quality any day.
Solo and Stainless Works, according to the shop, are right there as well.
Flowmaster, from what I was told from a couple shops, are known for drone, just passing that on, and MagnaFlow was another recommended brand if you have a little more restricted budget.
