Exhaust

Hope everybody's doing well.
I'm asking Santa for some exhaust on my truck.
So first off, I have a 2011 F150 XLT 4x2 Super Crew with the 5.0 and LOVE it.
I'm wanting a nice deep tone/rumble, and decent volume, but not taking out windows like some teenagers stereo.
So who has what, and what do you all like? Has to have two tips out the back, under the rear bumper.

Unk Bob:-wink

Magnaflow will do what you're talking about.

That's one of the brands I'm finding. The other of course is Flowmaster, but aren't there different models?

Don Baggett 12-11-2014 09:52 AM

I do believe those brands will offer different mufflers for different degrees of sound. I'm not up on it enough to speak to that, though. Both of those are good products.

I had Borla's on my 5.4 Triton. They sounded nice when you were idling or when you got on the gas, otherwise they we quite. Running down the highway they were quite inside the cab with no annoying drone. I do have Flow Masters on my classic car and they are definitely more aggressive.

I had a magnaflow on my f150. Sounded great, not too loud

That's a name I haven't heard in years. Had one on my 61 Falcon Ranchero:-X22.

I've got the magnaflow on my truck, not sure the model number but its the cat back dual rear exit, it was on my truck when I bought it. It sounds great at an idle but it gets fairly loud when you put your foot in it. I've only had the truck 2 weeks and I'm still undecided if I like it, might be a little to loud for my tastes.

Don Baggett 12-12-2014 06:59 PM

I put Magnaflows on a Chevy I had, and it sounded good, but it was really too loud to suit me. But hey, I'm old, so I'm staying stock. There's a kid who lives up the street, and his truck sounds good, but I wouldn't want to hear it all the time. (But I can remember when I would!):)

Memories from back in the day...:)

I think most exhaust manufacturers websites have sound clips you can listen to. If not, go on YouTube and you will find anything you want to hear on there. Just search F150 exhaust or something like that. I have a 40 series 2 chamber Flowmaster SI/DO that dumps out the side in front of the rear tire and I like it a lot, and I'm almost 47 :D

If you want a nice deep tone, then go with Magnaflow.

This 2013 with 5.0 and Roush exhaust. At the time a rear exhaust was only available...since then they've added a side exhaust.

I'm still leaning to either a FLowmaster 40 series, deep tone, and some volume, and MagnaFlow. Cat back, duals out under the rear bumper.
I'm 51 and still like the stuff}>
