Hello all. I am going to change my 302 EFI motor in my 1991 Bronco to a '92 302 HO. I stripped the HO motor to the long block and will be putting on all my sensors, intake, exhaust etc. Will everything be OK or will i need to do other things. Also, I know the firing order is different and will change accordingly, but do i need to re-route the injector wires on the intake?
Thanks for your help in this matter.
Are you keeping the existing wiring or putting in the H.O.'s wire harness? Either way the injector harness will go on the same way. The problem will be the cam firing order. The H.O. uses the firing order of a 351 and your stock computer will be assuming you still have the normal 302 firing order. You will either need to source a Mustang or Lincoln 5.0 computer or put in a normal 302 cam if you plan on keeping your stock components.
The other question is do you have one or two O2 sensors on the truck? If only one you might be limited to keeping the sock computer and going to a normal 302 cam. If a cam swap is necessary, you can put the distributor you have now onto the HO motor as the drive gear will be compatible with the normal flat tappet 302 cam.
If your injectors are bank fired, which is probably the case, then you don't have to worry about the injector harness, or the computer. They'll work.
Just make sure you have a steel gear on the distributor for the roller cam.

to best answer this question get with a mechanic at the loacal dealership or go to your local library and look at the engine schematics for the injectors if they are bank fired they will be on the sime line to the computer, if each injector has its own line to the computer then you will have to make adjustments.
Note: If you put the 320 cam in the HO you must chage the lifters also and then you will have a regular 320. the mane thing that makes the HO into an HO is the cam.
If the injectors are not bank fired I would try re-routing the wires to the injectors to match new firring order.
Good Luck

Bank firing is a misnomer. If you look at the wiring diagram it shows 2 injecter signals from the computer each operating 2 injectors on each side. Moving the wires around won't really do much since they are not timed to the cylinder anyway. Kinda like a carb engine the motor doesn't know or care where the fuel is coming from just that the air/fuel ratio is correct. IMHO modifying the injector harness not worth the trouble.
ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS CHANGE OUT CAM FOR A 351W CAM BUT WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SOME AT FORD THAT IN 92 ALL 5.0 WHERE HO. WITHTHE 137 FO BUT IF YOU NO FORD IAM SURE THERE ARE ALOT THAT ARE NOT THAT WAY .
BANK FIRE? I DONT NO WHAT THAT IS BUT ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS MAKE SURE THE CONNECTION FOR INJECTOR ,EGR,WATERTEMP AIRVAIN OIL PRESSER WATERTEMPSENDER AND THE PLUG TO GO TO MAIM PART OF HARNEES MATCH AND THE HO FIRING ORDER IS 94-DOWN TRUCK BRONCO 15426378 94-UP IS HO 13726548
