High mount 460 alternator bracket

Haven't got too far on this, sorry. I did a mock up with the above bracket, it didn't work because the mounting holes were off. I did some more measuring with the bracket semi-bolted to the motor, and came up with some more measurements that I used to modify my computer model. It is 95% done, just need to get one cut soon, hopefully. I will try to get it done by next week and mock it up. Hopefully my mounting holes work better on the next one. Will try to take some pics when I get to that point.

Bumping this again. Looking forward to seeing your product.
Also, I took the time to scuff up the alternator pulley as HIO suggested and made longer bushings so that the belt catches the pulley closest to the radiator(makes it easier to change, too). This allowed me to use a 17435 belt which a little wider. So far, no squeal, but the real test comes this weekend after it has sat for a few days.

So, it's been a week and I started her up again. No Squeal
! I'm happy. I'll just keep tracking it. Here's how the unit looks:
The spacers were out of 1"od, 1/2"id aluminum rod. Overkill, maybe, but it works. These spacers were cut 1.875 longer than the originals to get to the outer pulley. The belt used was a 17435 at Autozone.
Hope this helps and I'm still interested in seeing your mod, as it will make belt and alternator changes easier for us 460 guys.

Looks good Epsy. Just got my bracket cut and test fit yesterday. Should work, just have to swap over the pulley from a donor alternator and then cut and splice the wiring and it should work. Here is a pic of the bracket mocked up.

You should keep your measurements and make a template. With this, I think you could provide an avenue (and some $ for you) for our fellow FTErs.

Thanks, after I get everything on and working I plan on having more components made hopefully and sell them. I know we aren't the only ones looking to relocate the alt higher up, especially with the 3G swap. I'm glad your single groove pulley is working out, I will try that route first.

Lol. Well good to know I could at least sell one. Give me a little bit to get the rest of this put together and I'll see if I can get some more cut. Now you need to get rid of that mechanical fan and put in a thunderbird or mk8 fan. That's going to be my next mod after the alt is in place. I know a guy that can make you a custom stainless shroud to fit your radiator.
