I picked up on it... but sarcasm and my sarcasm in response don't quite translate over the web.

The purpose of the warranty plate was to allow dealers to verify how the vehicle was originally equipped in case of repair or a warranty claim. For example, you could order a regular Mustang coupe with a plain C-code 2V 289. But if ya drove in with a Hi-Po 289 (a K-code) and claimed that whatever was wrong with the engine was covered under the warranty, the dealer need not fulfill the claim because the vehicle wasn't equipped with a K-code engine according to the warranty tag. Apply the same to broken transmissions, rear gears, axles, etc.

That's what FoMoCo calls it, I'm just passing along the info.

End of the Trail wasn't a painting originally, was a sculpture. It was sculpted by James Earle Fraser in 1915.

There are many paintings of this sculpture, one was done by Charlie Russell for his friend...silent screen cowboy film star William S. Hart.

It's located inside his home in Newhall CA that is now a museum.

Info is available from martiauto.com for a fee.

How many remain is anyone's guess.

In the flyer add I posted ti looks like a 76-77 grill shell and then all the rest of the pics look like 78 or 79 with squares.

"Also just to clarify the square headlights did start on the 78 model trucks. The base and custom package trucks came with the round headlights in 78 and the rangers, ranger xlt, and lariat trucks came with the square headlights."
