Has anyone converted their center console to a refrigerator? Seems like a pretty easy thing to do if you could find a 12v cooling element sold separately outside one of those portable 12v refrigerators. I've seen the OEM Ford kits to turn the console into a cooler by using ice, but I'd like to be able to cool via a 12v cooling element instead.
Something like this could work. The only major issue is where i'd mount the fan. I assume it wouldnt be effective/efficient if that entire unit was mounted inside the console?
Doesn't the Ford Flex have a center console cooler? You might be able to see what parts are used in the Flex and then see if they will cross over to the Super Duty.
If you put it with the fan pointed toward the back of the truck it would be inside the console under the rear cup holders. You could put vent holes under the back storage cubby slot. Just a thought.
I keep a cooler in my truck 365/24/7. I've always wanted a 12v ice maker that I could mount in the bed of the truck, spending $2.00 every other day on ice adds up. In the winter it's not bad, ice is easy to come by, but any time it's above 50° outside I need ice every other day.

thank you! i put a rear console in my raptor, and this is going to find its way into it! it beats the pants off of those jokers with the rotorcraft b33r hose drain kit. lol BTW... anyhow this will be used if/when our racer breaks in BAJA and i have to rescue the drivers. nothing like a cold tecate after you get taken out of a race...
