'95 Bronco 5.8L

Looking at purchasing a '95 Bronco w/a 5.8L and push button 4x4. Have a few areas of concern and not sure if they would, potentially, cost a lot to fix. Any insight into whether these are large issues or not is greatly appreciated.

1. Push button 4x4 - 4 HI seems to engage (was having trouble positively seeing that it was engaged) but could not get 4 LO to engage. My last experience with a push button system was a '91 Explorer in which the push button system quit working. If I can't get 4 LO to engage what are the fixes and a general estimate of cost (I've researched cost of the electronic transfer case shift motor but don't know if there are other things to consider).

2. Turn signals - quit working - have already been told that the dash pod was replaced (no clue as to actual mileage) and not sure if this could be related to the initial issue the owner had with the dash pod? I've researched the forum and appears that could possibly just be flashers. If not a flasher/fuse issue what else?

3. Oil leak - came straight from work and couldn't crawl all the way underneath but seems to be a pretty good oil leak. Researched that oil pan gaskets are a general cause of these types of leaks. Concerns over a rear main seal as well? Anyone have a general cost if a mechanic were to provide the repair?

4. Ripple in passenger rear fendor - rear bumper tweaked - was informed that the original owner towed with the Bronco (transmission has been rebuilt) but also read that the ripple could have been from the spare tire carrier swinging around? Is that normal or should I look further for possible frame damage?

Thank you for your help. Any other areas to look at would be appreciated as well.

Rear mains seal work can get spendy depending on the shop. either the motor is pulled or the transmission/tcase. its labor intensive, the part is around $10. If you can turn a wrench most of this can be done in a drive way. An oil pan gasket again is just labor intensive.

the Tcase to engage 4low requires the trans to be in Neutral. if that wasnt done could explain why. 4low is so rarely used the motor may just need removed and inspected/serviced.

blinkers typically is the flasher module typically on fuse panel, i have this issue now myself.

passenger rear fender could be a number of things. I guess in the end if the price is right and you are ok with the body condition go for it.

I have a '94 with the push button 4x4 and haven't needed to use the low gear in quite awhile, but I know you must at a complete stop before it will engage, don't remember needing to put truck in neutral tho..
