Question Inline fuses

Hey guys was want to put an inline fuse on my heater motor on 54 ford truck. Would I put it right off the wire coming off ignition switch or between wire going from the outside of heater switch to the motor. Is there a rule of thumb when you are installing them. Thanks

The best location for the fuse is as close to the power source as possible. That way you protect most all of the circuit.

Yes.

Also, you can run a relay as well and be a little better off. Run the power control wire to the control side of the relay and then hot to the relay. On the switched side of the hi current you then run that wire out of the relay to the motor. It will lessen the electrical load on the controls and wiring and allow you to have a much more efficient circuit without worrying about burning up wiring.
