Hi. I have owned my 88 Bronco 2 for over a year now. It has its problems but i would love to fix it up as i have the money to. I need help to find a good part site and where to find a rear-end t=with the same differentials as mine. This is my first post. It has a new muffler on it but it needs an intake or outtake valve seal replaced as well as the sway bar stuff and front wheel bearings. The previous owner wallowed out the right rear side from driving on a bad bearing. i have had the right rear axle replaced twice but i know i need to get a new or new-used rear-end to completely fix it. I am also wondering what would be a good suspension to have replaced in it and weather stripping replaced. Thank you all for the help in advance.
I will post the engine size and such when i get the chance to. I know it has a fifteen gallon fuel tank and I believe the rear-end is a 373 differential. How often should i replace the Spark plugs?
Welcome to the forum. If you're searching for an entire rear axle you might consider taking the axles from a '91-'94 Explorer. It has the larger Dana 35 front and Ford 8.8 rear compared to the Bronco II's Dana 28 and Ford 7.5. I haven't done the swap but it's a common one and there are how-to's over at the Ford Truck Enthusiasts website in the technical section. If you're looking for any other parts you could send me a PM with what you're interested in. I don't have drive train components but do have a lot of electrical components and switches, interior parts, emblems and so on. Many of them are still in the original packaging. My truck's PO ran a Ford Parts warehouse and gave me about 2 truckloads of boxed parts along with my Bronco II. All '88 Bronco II's came with the Cologne 2.9L fuel injected V6 engine, 23 gallon fuel tank, and 3.73 rear axle as you mentioned.
Thank you for posting. I am glad to know I have a bigger gas tank than I was told was on there.un fortunately I am on a free account so I dont think I can pm you.
I have two 88's i believe keep saying I'm going to haul them to the scrapyard. Have lots of parts that could be used. good differentials. South of KC Mo. 60 miles.
What are you looking to get money wise for the parts? Or to scrap both of them if they are both 88's? I really only need a few parts but I probably need more than what I know of. Are the sway bars any good on them still?
