Head lights ????

Hi, On my 1997 Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition there is no buzzer when I shut it off and open the door with the head lights still on. Should there be a buzzer or warnning of some sort? Also I thought it had automatic head light that woudl turn themselfs off and on. Is this an option or not. I don't see a way to turn it off and on. Maybe I was missinformed about it.

Thanks,
James

On the 2000, the automatic headlight control is on the rear view mirror. the slide on the bottom controls the time delay to turn off. all the way left is No automatic lights. Move it to the right to turn the auto feature on and further to ther right to make them stay on longer after shutting off the truck.

Well there is nothing on the mirror, I guess that is not it for my year but thanks for responding. It may just not have them. I just thought it did and I was hopping. I have had automatic headlight so so long now I forget to tunr them off.

Thank you,
James

It was an option on the '97 as well. I have the automatic headlights on my '97 Sport. As mentioned earlier you will have a slide switch on your mirror. I am surprised that it wasn't ordered on an EB though. About half the 2-door Sports I looked at had it. It was about a $275 adder.
