diesel fuel additive

I know there has been alot of debate about the wisdom of using diesel fuel additives. There are a number of brands out there. While some of it may be pure snake oil, I was wondering if you use a name brand product, even though it may not help much, or could help a lot, could it do any harm regardless.......

diesel fuel additive

I only used an additive in the winter, and only an anti-gel additive at that. Diesel fuel lubricates the pump just fine, so there is no need for extra lube additives. The only way I would use another additive is if I got a bad tank of fuel, then I may use one of the power additives, or if the truck sat for a while, then I would use an anti-gel with an anti-bacterial additive, as there are bacteria that live in diesel.
