i have a 95 7.3 she blew an oil seal right on the injector causing it not to build pressure that along with the glow plug sullinoid going out caused the truck not to start got it running fine ran good for about 100 miles then I was driving today and then it started to KNOCK!!! then I looked back and it started pouring white smoke smelt like it was burning oil I don't know that to do the turns seems to spine really easy now and there is a chip on an impeller I think it was there though before hand turbo does spool but I am at a loss please help
turbo should always spin freely, there shouldn't be anything in there that would cause it not to, if you have a chip in a compressor wheel you have problems, there should be no chips in anything in their. that is a precision balanced unit and will grenade if that keeps up. also if something got in there to damage the compressor wheel, chances are you got stuff into the engine.
Did you replace the INJ o-rings? IF you are pouring white smoke, and it smells like burning oil, you need to check your oil levels!! a Knock could be several things. A piston is out of balance, you blew a ring, fuel is detonating where it shouldn't. It is just in one cylinder, multiple? Not replacing that o-ring on that injector could have lead to a dead cylinder. And what you are hearing is you running off of 6 instead of 8 cylinders.
But I would investigate where your problem is first! Run a compression test, or a leak down test to find out where the problem area is. Or take a video and post it to youtube and post the link here.
And X2 on the turbo! Were you running it without an air filter at any time? That metal chip could also be rattling around inside your engine now too, and has caused some bore damage.
Now that the compressor wheel is shot, now is the perfect time to rebuild your turbo, and put a wicked wheel on it.

My truck did this once on the way back from Vermont last year. Just all of the sudden started misfiring, white smoke, knocking and nearly no power. It came out of it after I did a couple of things.
The knock was not due to a failed engine component but from the engine having to maintain rpm at idle while misfiring. It's like if the engine slowed down too much between firing and had to catch up on the next cylinder, you get a pronounced "knock" then all is well into the next cycle.
I have a MT-2500 scanner and it gave me no codes at the time. My problem could only be one of a few things then. A failing CPS, water in fuel (my water in fuel circuit has been removed) or a grounding UVCH. I drained the fuel bowl, filled it with Diesel 911, unplugged and cleaned the UVCH pigtails and switched fuel tanks. When I restarted it, it misfired for a bit and leveled out. The smoke went away after a few minutes and all was well, all the way back to VA, 800 miles away.
Honestly though, I think I got a bad tank of fuel in Colchester, VT. The diesel tank was above ground and looked pretty ratty.
