You will need to crossreference the 4-digit "list" number stamped on the carb choke stack with the cfm rating. Pray it hasn't been machined off - a common hipo modification
Okay so I found out the carb is a Holley Classic. It is a 600 cfm vac secondary carb with electric choke. The numbers I got off of the choke horn are 80457-2 and 1870. Can yall guys tell me what you think about this carb and if its any good.
It's been discussed a lot before, but don't bother with 1.7 rockers if you have a cam. The 1.7 rockers at both lift and duration. If you're looking for more, buy a bigger cam and keep the 1.6 rockers.

I got the rockers for a really good price and couldnt pass them up. The cam is the largest hydraulic flat tappet I can find actually and I would be kind of upset if i didnt get to use the rockers. Im not trying to say you dont know your stuff but I want to use them and If I dont like them I let you say I told you so. Lol
No, Im sorry to say that I havn't had any progress. I am sad to say I lost interest in the 300 because I realized that I don't have the kind of money to build up the 300 the correct way. I just took a step back and found that if I was to dump 500 bucks into the 300 I would have little to no results, hardly an intake or headers simply because it doesn't have a big enough market. 500 bucks on a small block would get me headers, intake, ignition, and possibly a carb also. The 300 is a great engine and I will come back to it one day but for now it just doesn't have the right prices for a high school student. I actually sold my 300 to an old man today who was building a 50s model F100, he said he wanted something different and I told him this was what he needed. A 351w now powers my ride. Its sitting in the drive way getting prepped for a 4x4 conversion.
351w is a good option for power when fuel milage is not a concern, dollar for dollar certainly more power. I chose the 300 to stay away from the belly button crowd. The first 300 i turboed was 100% stock (1xx,xxx miles) with a holley 350 2 barrel, dp intake 4-2 barrel adapter. Hx 35 non intercooled. Only 13 psi, 460's couldn't even come close, and great fuel milage.
