rear axle vent
My rear pinion seal started leaking and after searching the archives learned that a blocked vent may cause it. I looked for the vent but don't see it. (1995 f150 4x4 5speed I6) Anybody know exactly where it is? Thanks!

On most vehicles the vent is actually a rubber tube or metal 'tit' on the top of the differential housing or axle tube.
If you know what rear-end you have then somebody can probably answer with great specificity.

Found it! There is a fitting with two brake lines and the vent tube coming up to the frame. On the end there is a barbed plastic fitting that was packed full of red Oklahoma clay. I cleaned it out and topped off the differential. I'll let ya'll know if that fixes it. Thanks once again!
