Split hood

This picture was posted on the HAMB. They're trying to decide what kind of truck this is. To me it looks like an amalgamation of parts from half a dozen different trucks.

What caught my attention was the hood. It kind of looks like a Bonus Built hood that was cut apart and hinged. Kind of interesting, I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that to a Ford hood.

Is this an actual truck or one of your makings?

My god that's ugly. The doors look vaguely like pilothouse Dodge, but the glass is all too large for the cab to be. The rear fenders look like late-50's/early 60's Chevy.

Now would I do something like that?!!

No, not this time.

Ross, those back fenders look almost home made to me, just a few simple sections of rounded sheet metal welded together.

It may be an ugly truck but it looks like it took a lot of work. A lot better than throwing a bunch of rusty sheet metal together, calling "Done" and labeling it a "rat rod" because the builder didn't have the talent to finish it.

I have to agree. It is definitely not to my taste but I have to give the guy kudos for not going the easy route.

But did he really have to use those god-awful stacks? Really?

My thoughts were the early 60 chevy rear fenders, dodge cab, front fenders look like combination of 48 and 65 ford and put together from a relative of Bobs.

I think it is the same vintage Toyota, or some other Asian brand, pickup as seen here (chopped) from Thailand

Toyota, no doubt. But that gives me an idea: since the parcel deliveries had the same grilles for the mid-fifties, but narrower, I wonder how one of those would fit in an F1 opening?
