Would i be able to do the same thing by connecting the fuel pressure tester and mashing the gas in my driveway because i dont have any gauges installed in my truck im just using a regular fuel tester
No. There's no load on the engine sitting in the driveway. Get a longer hose for the tester and tape the gauge to the windshield.
Watch the pressure and see when the truck starts acting up. Below 45 is cause for concern. Below 30 and you'll be feeling it in how it runs.

5 - 10 psi drop is fine. The blown boot is not. That's why I asked about gauges earlier.
