The cowl vent and vent windows transform these trucks into cabriolets in a heartbeat with the side windows down

another + for keeping it. This summer Newberg to Medford and back and close to 100 degrees. 70 mph is a bit much for windows down all the way or side vents but the wide open vent and just crack the windows a couple of inches was perfect. Well, AC might still be in my trucks future.

But, Ross, you have no humidity there in the land of enchantment...here in the deep south 100 degree heat is usually accompanied by 95% humidity!

Posted this story years ago.

I found my vent to be very useful in hot weather. On a previous truck, I got it on the road in the cooler months. One day, going to work - in my suit - I opened the vent for the first time while on the freeway. I was immediately covered in years of dirt and looked as if I had finished the Baja 1000. Lesson to be learned. I no longer wear suits as I am retired, but I'll be aware with my current truck.

HA same thing happened to my daughter in the 47 cadillac on her first ride. Opened the passenger side vent and who knows how many years of crud blew out and all over the place! I was dying laughing but at least now it blows clean.

[QUOTE=BradsF1;14854427]Doing body work on my chopped 52. Should I fill the cowl vent or keep it working. Biggest question is how bad they leak.
I am going to fill mine, I installed duel electric wipers. It's not very hot up here in the summer. But at least I can see through the windshield.

I'm in N. Florida - about 10 miles east of Monticello on CR146 - or halfway between Tallahassee and Valdosta, GA.

I have a Vintage Air A/C setup. I have no clearance issues but my truck is a 56.
