Hello I am looking for a recommendation for a new wheel and tire size as i intend to lower my 69 swb.
It currently has 15"x8" "turbine" style wheels with 255x70r15 which are about 28.5" tall.
It seems these will not be a good choice when it gets lowered.
Thoughts?
A coupla weeks ago at the GoodGuys show in Pleasanton CA was this 73 wearing the same 255/70 tire size front and rear.. It has a DJM 3"/4" system. I think it looks good.
thanks that does look good do you think it has clearances?
It had plenty of clearance.
Another tire combo that looks good is a staggered setup using 275/60-15s on 15x8s in back and 235/70-15s in front... Both come out to about 28 inches tall. A reason to stagger the sizes is to have a wider widths in back is to correct the visual anomoly of Bumpsides' rear track which is two inches narrower than the front. Ever drive behind a stock bump and observe that it is 'dog-walking' or 'crabbing' down the road?
275/60-15s on 15x10s in back and clearance gets real tight according to FTE guys Trozei. 295/50-15s in back will hit. Period.
