How to fix Code P1359

Hi, Im new to this forum. I just bought a 1996 Ford Ranger 2.3L, 4 cylinder. So I bought it off the auction with code P1359, the truck runs great doesn't seem like is has any issues starting or running but I need to pass DEQ and get it registered and can't do that untill I fix the check engine. Can anyone help please?

The ignisition system that I have is EEC-V not the ECC-VI so the Ignition Control Module (ICM) is because a part of the powertrain control module (PCM). I was told that I might have to take it to the dealer to get it reporgrammed and it should be fine from there on. Is there a way to do that yourself? any solutions will help!

Can't reprogram the PCM yourself without some expensive software. I would erase the current codes (disconnect the battery for a few minutes), drive it around your neighborhood for awhile, and then pull the codes (OBDII) with a reader or have an auto parts store do it for free, and see if it throws the 1359 code again. Here's a thread about that code:

Different Ford truck, but same year, so it should apply to your 96.
