Congrats on the new one Curtis - So is the new 6.7 pretty reliable in your opinion & is it as easy to service & work on as the old 7.3 ?
From what I've seen messing with them, and when chatting with all the Ford techs in the region, they have been very reliable. Just keep up with maintenance, and don't idle them for long periods of time. Should last every bit as long as I've had my old 7.3L.
As for ease of service..... meh. The maintenance isn't too bad, but any repairs or mods are a huge pain compared to working on the 7.3L. But I don't plan to mess with anything other than maintenance for many years to come.
I know mine won't last forever, but I just get upset that Ford won't let me order the options I want, or how I want them with these new trucks. Glad you found a package you're happy with.
Now if you can just stick with the whole keeping it stock part. I've heard of some pretty decent gains in MPG's when the dpf falls off.
Congrats on the new truck Curtis. Do visit here from time to time. I know how you feel with that nice warranty. I bought a new F150 ecoboost this year and its a nice ride. Kept the 350 though, couldn't take not seeing it hiding in its spot in the shop.
Jim.

Won't be a problem keeping it stock. Where I live we have emissions testing on diesels. That's enough to deter me from screwing with the DPF every single year in order to get through another registration.
Gassers have emissions testing done once every 2 years at a state testing station. It's $25, and they put you on rollers with a computer hooked up to the DLC and run a battery of accel and decel programs while checking for any trouble codes, and then finally ending with pressure checking the gas cap. Fairly in-depth for an emissions test.
Or the other option for gassers is a drive-by emissions check on the side of the highway that you can pass twice within a couple months of your registration month, pay your $25, and you're done.
If that isn't enough of a forehead scratcher....
Diesels on the other hand are once EVERY year, performed at a local private shop authorized by the state. It's anywhere from $65-$85 depending on where you go, and they put you on rollers and go up to speed, then decel with a load on the roller, checking only the amount of opacity at the pipe. Nothing more is done beyond that point. And zero option for drive-by emissions testing.
So spend 3X more twice as often for a joke of a test. Revenue generation at it's finest.
As if the $4,500 in taxes and registration I'm going to pay on this new truck aren't enough...

That's just terrible. I'm SOOOO glad we don't have emissions testing here. We DO have "inspections" but the idea behind that is safety. Of course they DO have some stupid inspection laws, like no tint or rust holes. I mean really, a dime sized hole in the fender is not a threat to anyone.

Good luck with your new truck Curtis !!
And thank your sharing your knowledge of the 7.3 with us over the years it has always been helpful and insightful.
Trust me when I say I need all the help I can get. LOL Besides I might as well be married to Blackie because my old 7.3 will be the last 1 ton truck I ever own. I'm sure it will out last me.
Good luck on the new truck Curtis. You're definitely always there to help around here, one of the old skool FTE'rs. Hope the warranty barely gets used on the 6.7
