gas problems
hey guys... got a new ford... its an 89 f-150 302 5 speed 4x4. when you start the truck no matter if its cold or hot, it will idle up to about 2000 rpm for aroun 20 seconds.. then you can pull out.. and if you are anywhere below 2000 rpm and hit the gas and let off... it will rev up to 2000 for about 5 seconds then fall back to where its supposed to. Also when you start it... it takes about 10 seconds or so before it will hit and start. i am up for any explanation and/or anything i can do to help this. it gets kind of wild to drive at times. thanks for your help

Sounds like your IAC is getting stuck from deposits inside the throttle body. You need to pull the codes first to find out what the computer thinks, and get a Haynes manual (PN 36058) & a cheap (~$12) multimeter.
