'05 6.0, 147k on clock, FICM rebuilt by FICM repair 2 yrs ago.
Engine is sluggish and misses until it warms completely up. For example: it's 75 deg in garage. I can start truck, back out of garage, let idle for 2-3 min, then drive off. It misses (bucking, jerking, etc) when pushing on accelerator petal, will not build rpm easily, which keeps tranny from shifting. Once it comes to temp and thermostat opens once, it runs fine.. Truck does this even if outdoor temps are 80-90 deg.
Hell, my '00 7.3 runs smooth and runs fine when cold. However it doesn't build max power until warm. But it sure as heck has never acted like this in its 285k life.
I'm really frustrated at this.. Does anyone have any suggestions as to cause / fix
Do you have scangauge or similar to read Pids?
FICM volts

How much time on your oil and fuel filters, do you use OEM or do you have aftermarket
Do you know fuel pressure? Do you have the blue spring update?
I do have a scan gauge, will have to remove it from another truck.
I use WIX filters and Rotella Synthetic oil. Only 600 miles on oil change and less that 3000 on fuel filter. Truck was doing this prior to oil change. Blue spring update done last year sometime. Unk fuel pressure.. Have to get another fitting to check fuel pressure...
get that scangauge in and look at the Pids. From what I scanned over FICM was what popped out the most but being it was repaired by FICM that puts it WAY off the page. Which leads me to voltage since that can kill a FICM. But really need the pids to eliminate things. Heck it could even be an EXTREME case of stiction (I've heard of that as well) Some of the pros will step in soon I am sure. Also don't think I'd be using the WIX filter as they can cause problems although when I bought my truck I drove it for 5000K miles with the wix flter and cap but changed it as soon as I figured out that was what was on it.
