HELP!!! STARTING ISSUES AND IDLE ISSUES!!

HELP!! Starting issues among other things!!
I just bought a 94 Bronco 351 auto trans 4WD from a friend that i pick up friday to fix up and flip and i have a few issues i'm all kinds of confused about.

1. Sometimes it starts fine, other times it won't start click or nuthin..

2. When it does run it starts to idle super low and hesitate a little the. Of course dies or stalls at stop lights and so on, then i'm left praying that it starts again. I've heard cleaning the IAC valve can fix that but if it doesn't work i wanna know what else it could be

3. I was told the 4wd doesn't work, it's push button style on the dash and manual locks on the front hubs, i haven't been able to test it out myself so my only guess is the guy i bought it from pushed the button for 4wd and i would hope locked the hubs and nothing at all happened or maybe he just doesn't know about the locks but IF IT WON'T engage on 4wd what are my options for the result of the problem, cylinoids motor?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

First off it you have access to a code reader, then run some tests and see what the computer will tell you. If you have no reader you can use a paper clip (look it up), but I recommend a cheap reader.

1. When it doesn't want to start, bypass your starter solenoid and see if it does start. Make sure your battery is good as well as connections, to starter etc. Another thing to check is the ignition switch; if it's worn out or half broken you might get starting problems where it starts sometimes, then doesn't do anything the next time. The starter could be bad too so if none of the other things work then that could be the case.

2. The IAC is likely causing your idle problem, clean it first and if no improvement replace it. Also check vacuum lines and such for leaks.

3. If you have absolutely confirmed the 4x4 isn't working when the hubs are locked then there is an electronic shift motor for the transfer case. This could need to be replaced. Check connections and such first.
