The Chero was a figment of my imagination combining the rear quarters of a '57 Ford wagon onto the boxsides of a '57 Ford truck, ala the '57 Dodge Sweptside:
You're right, it does. The text said it was claimed to have been built by Mercedes as a special order. This one, which has some similarities was built by two good friends of mine, right here on Orcas Island. It was a volvo wagon with the tailfins from a volvo p1800 sports car grafted on. He calls it the El Volino. Just out of curiosity do I understand that the original '57 on this thread was never built, and that was all done on photoshop? You could fool a lot of people that way if it's the case.

I photoshopped the '57 a few years back for the' what was then, the '48-60 board.
Bob, that is amazing. I guess I never paid attention to what photoshop can do. I could have fun building some of my dream vehicles like that. Does it take a lot of time to get good at it? Maybe something to try while I am recovering from surgery. Nobody will let me go down to the real shop for another two weeks....

What's up with you old timer? Hope things are going well. Thought you had been around here more than usual.
On the '47 earlier I put up a thread a week ago called 'old truck guy'. Then it got picked up on the 48-56 guys. Went in for a 'simple' stent in an artery and they got in there and found a bunch of french fries in my arteries, so they kept me around and did a triple bypass. That was 2 weeks ago yesterday. I was in for 6 days. Still can't drive or work for 2 weeks. So I've been making up for lost time. I was extremely busy with work deadlines and stressed out for 6 months leading up to this. No heart attack, so no muscle damage. Good as new soon. Orphans are always the last ones to know, huh? Danny is doing the work of two down in the woodshop, bless his heart. Thanks for checkin' in ol' Pal.
I actually use a program called Paintshop Pro, it's not as sophisticated as Photoshop but it has a pretty good assortment of gadgets. I pretty much taught myself how to do it by trial and error and clicking around on the tools. I think it took me a couple of hours to build the Chero.
