WOW!! What a stunning truck. I also have never seen one with back doors like those. All I would do different is a chrome front bumper, maybe even a 59-60 style but tucked in.
It IS a thing of beauty for sure! I can really appreciate the attention to detail and the workmanship both by Orrville and the current owner. Guess I'd never own anything like that or a tuxedo. They'd both get trashed on my mountain road. Would love a pic of it towing the vintage airstream down a desert highway though.
I did some looking and I believe it is safe to say that all the Crew Cabs made in Orrville, Ohio did not have suicide doors. That is clearly a change that was customized. You can find many pictures with a simple image search and they are all normal doors. IIRC they used a standard door and cab were they would cut them down and fit them up with the front doors and cab.
Some of the railroad ones I have seen are actually 3 door. Only the passenger side opens.
Can't be the 60 has dual head lights. The 57-60 fenders are the same accept the front where the headlights and turn signals go.
Absolutely beautiful truck! I didn't remember the Orrville, OH conversions having suicide doors, that is pretty neat.
I believe Mike is right though, as there seems to be no round boss on the fender/splash apron where the 57-58 parking lights would normally be. Definitely a customized touch.
After looking closer it looks like they smoothed/removed the stock 57/58 turn signal lamps and used something custom. It being black it is kinda hard to see in the pictures.Cool truck though.
