Winterization

Hey so this is my first winter owning a diesel and I was planning on sticking the truck in the back yard as it needs the brake lines rerun and it is already a nice steady 30 degrees here in Michigan and getting colder. I want to know what I need to do in order to winterize my truck so I don't have problems come spring when I can work on it. I bought some Diesel Fuel Supplement Cetane Boost, and was wondering if there is anything else I need. I plan on removing the batteries and putting them in my basement. Should I fog the diesel, or is that only good to do on gassers? Any help is welcome as I don't want to have a busted engine cause it cracked come spring.

make sure coolant is good for whatever your average low temp is, plus -30 degrees.
so if you get to a low of -10, you want your coolant good for -40.
other than that, there really is not much besides protecting the batteries.

Okay that is any easy thing to do. And fogging is, at least on older cars, when you plan on leaving the car sitting for winter you spray fogging oil into the carb until the engine shuts itself off. Then in spring you start it right up with no problems. Don't know where to spray on efi vehicles but it works for them too. Lubricates the piston walls so that they don't rust.
