Hope it warms up

Not having a shop to work in is a real pain when it's cold out. 25° out and I plan on changing tsat today. Not gonna be fun.

Well my grand plans are not working.
Can't get the Egr out. Can twist it but I can't get a good angle to pull up. Can't get the intake pipe off either (the camp on the side going to the intercooler is stripped. On to just doing the tsat (if I can get it out. Best laid plans.....

A sharp short pry bar to get the EGR out is the trick. Sensor cleaner is a must on MAF, IAT1, IAT2, EB, all will lead to better performance. When I had my EGR issue, I did all this as well amd it really smartened things up.

Well abandoned the EGR pull and other stuff ( ran out of time) thought about a pry bar but was scared to try and break something. Will retry tomorrow on all the sensor and EGR cleaning--but I bet that puppy is caked up since I couldn't budget it (could twist but no pull up)

I was able to twist mine but had to use a pry bar and coat hanger to get it out. IAT2 sensor was caked just as bad but both were dry so that was good.

Yep, had it all standing by but I didn't waste too much effort on it when it wouldn't come right out. Those two orings sure do seal good...lol

These are the flat bar's I use , it seems to help pop the valve upward , you should really get new O-rings If you haven replaced them.

I like those-- not sure if I could get em in place. Cant get the intake tube off--but I do have the small pry bars. I do have the orings and gasket--got em when I bought the tstat. I'll have to wait on the cleaning now til the week of Thanksgiving
I'll be off that week

OH yea they fit in perfect once you turn counter clock wise you get the bar under the tabs pop up no need to take anything off , I do remember that the bolt closer to t-stat 1 on the right was a little longer , just a heads up .

Cool. Will look for some. Had both of the bolts out and they look the same to me but again I had my glasses off.
Heck I have a hard time working up there anyway---I'm 5'4" lol
